Description
This Davtron OAT probe can be used with a Garmin GAD13 to display outside air temperature and true airspeed on the Garmin G5.
12 foot wire.
The GAD 13 (not included) is a small unit used to interface to OAT probes. The GAD 13 provides a standard
three-wire or two-wire interface that can be connected to this davtron OAT or the Garmin GTP-59.
OAT analog information from the GAD 13 is converted to digital information, and passed to
other G5 system LRUs using CAN communication. Connection to GAD 13 enables the G5 to
display TAS, OAT, and crosswind information.
When G5 is configured as a directional gyro (DG) or horizontal situation indicator (HSI), wind speed and direction is also displayed in the upper left corner of the G5. For standalone G5 installations, the GAD 13 and a temperature probe are required. For aircraft where G5 is paired with a compatible PFD such as G3X Touch, G5 will display this information with a software update. New for experimental aircraft, G5 can also display density altitude below the altimeter while the aircraft is on the ground.
